Chamber choir

In addition to the main choir, Collegium Musicum also has a chamber choir. It currently consists of around 24 members. These are experienced singers from the main choir who wish to study more challenging repertoire. The pace of the rehearsals is therefore quicker and the music is more complicated. The chamber choir works on many different pieces throughout the year. Some of these pieces are performed at the biannual concerts in December and June along with the orchestra and main choir, however the chamber choir also has a couple additional concerts. For instance, there are two Bach cantatas are on the program each year and there is a separate chamber choir concert at the end of each academic year in June. Additionally, the chamber choir participates frequently participates in various external projects. Such projects include, a collaboration with ‘Nederlands Kamerkoor’, the 3rd of October celebrations in Leiden, and a collaboration with the Marine Chapel of the Royal Navy led by Arjan Tien-Du Toit.
